The Castelle FaxPress 9.x CD’s Add On Products include a variety of fax/email integration, scanner/MFP integration and third party integration options, as well as a fax database/archiving service. A comprehensive collection of Add On Product documentation is provided in the Documents folder on the Castelle FaxPress 9.x CD, and in the Administration Tools’ Documents folder.
The FaxPress Email Gateways integrate the FaxPress fax servers and email integration, allowing faxes to be sent and received right from the users’ mail clients. See the FaxPress Email Gateways Guide in the Documents folder on the Castelle FaxPress 9.x CD for more information. The FaxPress Email Gateways are included with the FaxPress 2500/5000/7000 and 7500 fax servers only. The FaxPress Email Gateways are not included with the single line, entry level FaxPress SBE model.

It is highly recommended that the server or workstation used for the gateway installation be dedicated for the FaxPress Email Gateway. Since the Email Gateway interacts with other applications and the desktop there is a significant potential for conflict if this system is used as a workstation or as an application server for other 3d party applications. Also, no other SMTP service that binds to port 25 should be running on this system.
The server or workstation should meet the following specifications:
| ■ | Hardware – PIII 500 MHz CPU or faster (or equivalent) with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB of free hard drive space. |
| ■ | Operating System – Windows NT 4.0 Workstation or Server, 2000 Pro or Server, XP Pro or 2003 Server. The latest MS Service packs for the OS should be applied. |
| ■ | Applications – For Exchange Integration using MAPI the Outlook Client should be installed. This should be Outlook 2000 or newer. For Lotus Notes Gateway the Lotus Notes client v5.x or v6.x should be installed. All applications for which email to fax attachments are expected to be processed should be installed on the system. The user chosen to run the Email Gateway service must log into the system and launch each application at least once. Any auto update features that throw a dialog requiring user interaction with the desktop should be disabled. |
MFP (Multi Function Printer) & Scanner Integration
Integrating the FaxPress with the HP MFP and scanners or with the Xerox Work Centre Pro and Document Centre transforms these devices into virtual fax machines. MFP and scanner integration products include the:

With Castelle’s Xerox Interface enabled, walk-up Xerox users can access an intuitive, user-friendly fax interface right from the Xerox DocumentCentre or Work Centre LCD control panel. | ■ | Ricoh GlobalScan 2.0 – The FaxPress Ricoh GlobalScan interface provides scan-to-fax integration for Ricoh GlobalScan-compliant devices. Third-Party Application Integration
Integrating the FaxPress with Microsoft and Goldmine provides fax features that allow faxes to be sent out right from within the Microsoft and Goldmine applications. Setting up FaxPress/Microsoft integration and FaxPress/GoldMine integration begins in the Add On Products folder.
